Our Story
Calm is a form of justice.
Reaching Beyond Bars was founded on a simple conviction: the people most pressed by the carceral system deserve the same access to deep, restorative healing as anyone else.
The Beginning
Born from witness.
Our founder — a certified professional aromatherapist and sound practitioner trained in Solfeggio frequencies, tuning forks, and binaural beats — spent years watching loved ones move through incarceration. What she saw was a sensory desert: harsh lighting, constant noise, stripped-down spaces. What she knew was that the nervous system can be reached, even there.
Reaching Beyond Bars grew out of that conviction — first as informal Wellness Within Kits sent to facilities, now as a full program of aromatherapy, sound, and mindfulness practices serving incarcerated individuals, their families, and the correctional staff who hold the day-to-day.
